Amber Bardan returns with a heart-stopping third installment in her high-octane, highly addictive Bad For You series

A fling with her best friend’s reclusive business partner should’ve been harmless.

When Emma meets him, the only way she’s looking to be tied down is in the literal sense. But Avner—shady hacker, off-the-books investigator, occasional spy—takes her breath away. He’s the first man who doesn’t turn to mush under her sexual spell: a fact that makes what’s between them very different, and very real.

Beautiful and uninhibited, Emma is everything Avner thought she would be and more. Yet his deadly past and dark duties can never be forgotten…not even as he succumbs to their seductive intimacy. But for the first time he’s after something of his own, as well.

And now that he’s found Emma, he’ll protect her, no matter what. Because anything worth loving is worth fighting for.

But nothing about Avner is remotely harmless.

Soon, Avner has infiltrated Emma’s personal life, stalled her career and nearly destroyed everything she’s worked for—all in the name of protection. Desperate and heartbroken, drawn into a secret criminal underworld in her quest for understanding, Emma discovers the truth: Avner’s secrets are far more devastating than his lies.

I caught sight of his traveling jaw—and my own fell open because this was not the right jaw. This jaw wasn’t Kal-El on the front of a comic book, it was sharper, the cheeks above it hollow.

My hand fell away.

His body followed the turn of his head. His cologne hit me like a jolt of static. Spicy, and so musky and male, maybe some of that scent was actually him. I blinked at the open shirt collar suddenly in front of my face. Most of the time I came level with men, a balance I adored. But today I stared at a collarbone. A deep biting groove at the base of a long, wide neck. Twin tendons rose up in a V on either side of a prominent Adam’s apple I could lean forward and sink my teeth right into. The thrill of being stood over struck some place deep in my core. Flipped the mechanics of how I preferred this male/female thing to be. Like maybe if I went to his room—and I knew right then without having seen his face that I would be going to this man’s room—I might actually let him be on top.

Pure lunacy. The top was my spot. I tilted my chin and met a dark gaze. His brown eyes shone down at me, flecked with yellow like they were lit from behind. He smiled, and grooves made crescents on either side of his mouth. Mischief sprawled across his features so catastrophic that I could almost hear a chorus of hallelujahs.

This is going to be fun.

He smiled wider.

My womb panged. Yep, so much fun would be happening. So much fun. Laughter bubbled out of my lips, because really all I could do was laugh. His brows shifted, his gaze moving over me as though he’d never seen a person laugh before. Then his chest rumbled and the sound he released rushed straight between my thighs.

My cheeks burned from grinning.

Buona sera,” he said.

The words were familiar, but I no longer remembered what they meant. In fact, I’d lost all languages. His lips parted, and he spoke again. My gaze was sucked to his mouth. To the way his lips curved up so completely, every tooth revealed all the way to his molars.

I was going to have awesome sex very, very soon. I felt it in my bones—the amazingness of the impending sex. Actually I felt it in my cunt, but whatever. I love my life. His lips shuffled across his teeth as he talked, words smooth and almost creamy compared to when he spoke Arabic on the phone. The tone was the same, husky and low. I had no idea what he said, but I kept on smiling.

The right kind of guy, by Kerry Leigh

Love is a Gamble…

A What Happens in Vegas Romance
Kerri-Leigh Grady
Releasing Oct 17th, 2016
Entangled Lovestruck
novelist Kelsey Spencer doesn’t believe in love, and she’s tired of faking her
way through happily ever afters. Determined to change things up, she heads to
the Las Vegas Romance Lovers Convention. But somewhere between half-naked cover
models and hot Navy SEALs, Kelsey’s plans derail…
Especially once she meets über-fan Jasmine Grant…and Jasmine’s über-hot
alphahole brother, Aaron.

Buttoned-up Aaron Grant never thought he’d find himself at a romance
convention, but here he is, trying to convince his impulsive sister not to
marry a beefcake cover model. His only hope is to enlist the aid of the cynical
(and sexy) romance writer his sister worships.

After a sweltering jaunt around Vegas, some strange conference hijinks, and one
outrageous proposal, Kelsey and Aaron are left questioning everything they know
about romance and love…and if falling in love might just be worth the gamble.

My review:
4 out of 5 funny stars!!!!

I definitely liked the book, and the characters, and the chemistry, and the theme, and the second characters, and…. Did I mention I liked the book???

This is a feel good, have fun, read with a cup of coffee and relax type of book.

I read it in less than 24 hours!! This is the kind of book I love to read in between series. It is not very heavy but not all fluff, it has the right amount of angst and a lot of fun, it’s very well written, and it keeps your interest until the very end.

Kelsey Spencer is kind of a hypocrite, imagine writing romance novels, and not really believing a word you write. She just doesn’t believe in love at first sight, or on grand gestures, there are no heroes of romance in real life, If you want a marriage that works, better marry your best friend. But alas, she finds herself in a romance book convention, signing books and putting a happy face, that is  until Jazmine enters in her life, like a whirlwind that brought and dropped her gorgeous brother on her lap

Aaron Grant has been protecting his little sister all her life, she’s had some wild antics, and thanks to him, she has been spared of a lot of problems. He sees it as his responsibility, and between his sister, a domineering father, work, he really doesn’t have the time or the humor, to delve on a personal relationship.

He is attending the Romance Conventions, simply because that is where Jasmine is going, and he finds himself enlisting the help of a beautiful author so she can talk some sense to his sister, and here enters romance author Kelsey, and suddenly his world and views are turned upside down.

The characters have chemistry in abundance, and the heat is contagious. They are very well written, and you end up loving the secondary characters, in this instance, Jasmine.  It is definitely as advertised, it’s a ROM-COM!!!!

Grady firmly believes every solid relationship is built on laughter. And sometimes vodka. She holds an MFA from Seton Hill University and a BS in
computer science, so she’s a kind of half-artsy, half-nerdy ball of nervous
twitching. She has an unnatural love of dark humor, gadgets, chickpeas, BJJ,
terrible acrylic landscape painting, half-assed jewelry design, Perl
programming (get off her lawn, haters), Red Sonja (done Gail
Simone-style), and planners. This week, she lives in Hawaii. Go ahead–cry tears
of pity for her. She’ll wait.

Review: A Raven’s Heart, by K.C. Bateman

5 out of 5 witty stars

August 1815. The war with France is officially over, Napoleon’s an exile on St Helena, but Europe is still a very dangerous place to be.

Kidnapped and held for ransom at nineteen, ducal heir William Ravenwood knows the only person he can rely on is himself. Now part of a spy ring that includes his friends Nicolas and Richard Hampden, he’s the smuggler known as The Raven, a ruthless agent who specializes in rescuing hostages and prisoners of war from captivity.

Raven longs to discover the fate of his colleague, Christopher ‘Kit’ Carlisle, who’s been missing, presumed dead, for over two years. He’s also equally determined to stay away from the one thing he knows is dangerous to his health – the bane of his life, his best friends’ infuriating and provocative little sister, Heloise.

Heloise is a brilliant code breaker, one of the English government’s most valuable assets. She’s also loved Raven for years, but considering that he rejected her at sixteen, before her face was scarred rescuing her brother from an icy river, she’s certain he doesn’t want her now, despite his outrageous flirting.

But when Heloise decodes a message that proves Kit is alive and a prisoner in Spain, Raven realizes she’s in grave danger. With French agents determined to silence her, he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe – even if that means taking her to Spain with him as an unwilling hostage.

As they face French deserters and Spanish freedom fighters, Raven and Heloise try to ignore the simmering attraction that’s been building between them for eight long years. The differences between them are striking but they’ve always had a strange underlying bond. Heloise might be scarred outwardly, but Raven’s wounds are all on the inside. He knows he’s not worthy of her love—a shadowed Hades pining for sun-kissed Persephone—but he’s not above showing her passion for the short time they’re together.

A master at decoding complex messages, Heloise finds Raven frustratingly hard to read, but as their lives hang in the balance she’s determined to unravel his secrets and unlock his dark, elusive heart…

This is a comedic romance story with a great set of characters!!! You love them right from the beginning!!!

“That’s how it is with me. When you go, all the light goes, too.” He sounded both defiant and vulnerable.

Heloise is just at the right age where the marriage proposals come from every angle, and even after she was in an accident that left her with a scared face, the marriage proposals still came, and her father was pushing her to pick someone, so she would be properly wedded. Except… she did not want to get married just because, she wanted love, and adventure, and more than what she was seeing as her future.

She is a bright and very intelligent girl, with a job: helping in the war by decoding messages! But above all, she is and has been in love, since she was 16 years old, with her brothers friend.

“Come on, you’ve fancied me since you were sixteen,” he goaded mercilessly.
“It was a temporary aberration. I’m cured of it now”

Except he only sees her as his best friends little sister, one that has to be looked out for, one with a witty mind, but still the little girl he’s known since he was a boy.

Raven, or William de I’Isle, Viscount Ravenwood, is the dashing devonaire, a spy for the English, a typical Don Juan de Marco. Money, grace, girls…. Except he really can’t have everything he desires, because SHE is the forbidden fruit, she is the little sister of his practically brother.

And while someone is trying to kill her, he is charged with the responsibility of keeping her safe, being this close to her is being more problematic for him, since he can’t seem to decide whether to strangle her himself, or kiss the ever living heck out of her.

“That’s true. You’ve resisted me for years. Why is that?” She fought the seductive pull of him. “Because unlike so many of your conquests, I possess a working brain?”

So to keep her safe, he practically kidnaps her and takes her to an exciting adventure , new places!

The story is told by both points of view, and it is really good. The witty banter between them, and the chemistry is of the hook.

I can not begin to describe how it gripped me since the beginning, first two pages and you are hooked!!!!

Definitely a book I can and will recommend, and I look forward to reading more material from K.C. Bateman

Saving Cruz, by Alexis James, book blitz!!!

Saving Cruz
Alexis James
Publication date: October 4th 2016
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Hate is controlling. Dominating. Powerful.

And so is Cruz Moran.

Sexy Spaniard Cruz Moran has it all….money, success, and strong family ties. The handsome CEO with the sharp mind and even sharper tongue, is driven to succeed at every level. Ghosts haunt him. Painful memories, he can’t seem to avoid. His demons remind him of the tragic choices he made years ago. His life of solitude… a small price to pay for what he’s done. He avoids relationships of any kind, choosing instead to submerse himself in his company.

Mia Elliott is innocent… a sweet, exotic beauty who walks straight into Cruz’s path, and knocks him completely off his feet. She is instantly intimidated by him, and rightly so. He is brusque, rude, and quite possibly the most haunted man she’s ever laid her eyes on. He’s also beautifully complicated, in every single way. Losing her heart to him comes all too easily. Finding a way into his heart, will prove more challenging than she ever imagined. Saving him from himself seems impossible, but so worth it.

It’s a Fugly life!!! By Mimi Jean Pamfiloff… happy book day!!!

fug2-release-blitz-01It’s a Fugly Life,

Fugly, book #2

by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Released October 11, 2016

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, comes a new standalone Contemporary Romance.

My name is Lily Snow. And I was once the kind of ugly that turned heads and made people stare. The worst part was how I let it ruin my life and destroy my relationship with the love of my life: Maxwell Cole, one of the sexiest, wealthiest, enigmatic men on the planet. All because I felt ugly and certainly not good enough for a man’s love.
But not anymore.

One car wreck, three reconstructive surgeries, and some unexpected money have changed my life.

I’ve started my own company, I’ve finally learned to like myself—not love, but like (hey, it’s a journey)—and I’ve met a wonderful new man who’s helped me put Max in the past where he belongs.

There’s only one problem: after six long months, Maxwell Cole is back, asking for the one thing I can’t give him. And he’s not taking no for an answer.

NOTE: This is a continuation of the story FUGLY, but is a standalone.

No, no, no. What did he just fucking say? I stared at the ass-faced reporter blocking my way to the church. A sadistic smirk stretched across his lips while his crew filmed my reaction. They hoped I’d cry for the entire world on my wedding day, didn’t they?

Maybe I would.

“Tell us, Miss Snow, how does it feel?” He urged the cameraman closer and shoved the microphone an inch from my face. “How does it feel knowing your fiancé cheated on you last night?”

The bastard cheated on me? The night before our wedding? I tried to blink away my tears, but his words felt like a red-hot poker through my collapsing heart. After everything that had happened, every tear shed, every moment of struggle, and the promises made, I couldn’t believe it had all led to this: emotional annihilation.

What did you expect, Lily? Princes don’t fall for frogs. Not in real life. He wanted a beautiful life, a perfect life. He wanted a beautiful wife and beautiful babies. I couldn’t give him those things.

I dropped my bouquet, smoothed down the front of my white dress, and lifted my chin. “It feels like shit.” I turned away from the church, ignoring the roar of the press and the clicking of cameras, leaving behind my last shred of belief in happy-ever-afters.

Those don’t exist. They never did.

My Review!!!!
Definitely a book worth reading and recommending.

Every one of us has a fugly voice inside that keeps us back from doing something or going for something that we want, saying that we are not good enough, or pretty enough, or what ever. And in this book author Mimi Jean manages through comedy (made me laugh out loud in a hospital’s waiting room) and romance to explore a little bit about this side of everyone, this ugly side that manages to screw us up sometimes.

This is the second book, the first one is Fugly, but it can be read as a stand alone, although I do recommend reading in order. It is told by both sides and manages to capture your attention all the way through!

Lily, is now a single woman with her own shop, her own house, she is doing what she wants, she is her own woman!!!!!….. Se DOES NOT NEED NO Max to feel complete! She even has Patricio!!!

And suddenly Max decides to enter her life… again…. After six months?????? With not one word and now he wants her back????

“Oh yes, that man had issues. Big, scary issues with fangs and wiry hair and an ice pick”

Max hasn’t had it easy since the last time he saw Lily, but as always, he keeps everything near his chest, and hasn’t told Lili anything, he just assumes she is going to be waiting patiently for him.

And in comes Patricio!!! The third wheel in this love triangle. The handsome Italian actor used to have his way and his women but that swears he is no longer a playboy.

So Lily has some thinking and choosing to do on her own. We’ll she choose one domineering guy that makes her lose control in all areas of her life, o will it be Patricio, the safe one, the more than friend one.

“I felt a drop of wetness trickle down the side of my cheek, and it took a moment to realize it wasn’t my nervous sweat or emotional tears. It was him.”

What I really like in this book, as I said earlier, is that we see the way we can sabotage ourselves and our happiness by listening to our insecurities, but once we conquer our fears and face ourselves, accepting who and what we are we can accomplish everything.

What I didn’t like in this book, is that from my point of view, Lily is a very strong opinionated and very intelligent woman, and throughout the book that was not the same woman from book one, she made some pretty stupid choices and decisions that I did not feel were akin to her personality.

There is a love triangle, and I’m not really a love triangles kind of book gal, but it really is a good book.

I was given this ARC courtesy of the author in exchange of an honest review.

Sparking the Fire, by Kate Meader

sparking the fire

SPARKING THE FIREfire_animated_text_divider

5 out of 5 sizzling stars!!
Sizzling hot, rise the temperature funny, quirky novel with a too hot to handle firefighter, and a courage to the max actress with a funny mind.

This is the 3rd book on the Hot in Chicago series… a series that you definitely want to read!!!!

This is the story of Wyatt Fox. The last bachelor son of the Dempseys. And he will keep it that way thank you very much, that is why he hangs on to that amazing week with an (at the moment) unknown woman that fuels his fantasies.

He is a recluse that avoids the limelight like the plague so it comes as a shock to him that he is now the new movie consultant for the CFD.

And not only that but he is about to face the woman of his fantasies, literally , because Molly Cade is the star of the movie in which he is the consultant and is the same woman from years ago.

Molly Cade came crashing down hard… after being at the top, an A lister in Hollywood, her divorce and the leaking of some racy photos, personal photos she took for her husband, left her ostracised and at the bottom.

So now., she has her opportunity to shine and gain her footing…. All she needs is the stamp of approval from Alex Dempseys, but there is a human wall literally and figuratively, preventing her from reaching her goal. To get to Alex she need to go through Wyatt.

She could have used the wall, but it was five feet away and his arm was right there attached to a human wall, and what harm could it do? Untold amounts, it seemed………… […] Positively porn-worthy.

She is a funny and quick witted person that was dealt a bad hand, but now she sees her opportunity of redemption, but her heart may get in the way of her dreams… or maybe her dreams change….

Their chemistry hasn’t diminished in the lightest in the last 5 years that they haven’t seen each other.

The story is very well written, you simply cannot fall in love with the Dempseys and their love and protectiveness of each other. The way they embrace family, being blood family or not. But at the same time, the funny way of them, their ribbing and roughing of each other.

“What in the fuckity fuck of all that is fucking fucked did you do to drive your woman away?”

Kate Meader is a great storyteller, and this sizzling sorry melts your heart all the way. Family shining through all the way. Reflecting on what is family, not only blood , but bonds, loyalty, and sticking together through thick and thin.

Great book!!!!!

I recieved this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Praise for Sparking the Fire, Book 3:

“The tale of hot firefighters and the women—and one man—who love them has come to an end. Meader ends this series with role playing, fierce family loyalty and multiple orgasms. The male protagonist goes through a transformation that showcases his vulnerability, insecurities, possessiveness and protectiveness. The many instances of a family sticking together through it all are more than enough to tug on the heart strings, but the steamy sex and sentimental pillow talk make this book a must-read.”

RT Book Reviews Four Star Review, Scorcher

“Can a firefighter and a movie star really make it work? Meader (Rekindle the Flame, 2015) immerses you in Wyatt’s tight-knit family of foster siblings that she’s built throughout the Hot in Chicago series, and readers will feel like part of the family in no time. Her descriptions of Chicago will leave fans wanting to travel to the Windy City and fall in love with their own firefighters.”

About Sparking the Fire, Book 3:

Heating up reading lists this Fall will be Kate Meader’s highly anticipated Sparking the Fire, the “sexy and sassy” (#1 New York Times bestselling author Jude Deveraux) steamy third novel in the Hot in Chicago series, where former lovers unexpectedly reunite for a sizzling affair that will have the director yelling, “Quiet on the set!”

Wyatt Fox, resident daredevil at Engine Company 6, needs a low key job to keep him busy while he recovers from his latest rescue stunt. Consulting on a local movie shoot should add just enough spark to his day. But then in struts Molly Cade: the woman who worked his heart over good, and then left him in the Windy City dust.

Actor Molly Cade, America’s fallen sweetheart, finally has her shot at a Hollywood comeback with a dramatic new role as a tough-as-nails firefighter that promises to propel her back into the big time. And she’s not going to let anything stand in her way—even a certain brooding, blue-eyed firefighter she’s never quite been able to forget…Their story is straight out of a script: irrepressible, spunky heroine meets taciturn, smoldering hero. But these two refuse to be typecast, and when the embers of an old love are stoked, someone is bound to get burned…
