Wooo hoooo.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a YA book, so I was kind of reserved about this one. I decided to give it a go, because I liked the title!! after that I liked the cover, and guess what??… I liked the book!!!!

The book is told by two points of views, by Tommy and Finn. We first meet Tommy in a very unfortunate situation that ends up getting him an his sister living with a unknown uncle and aunt, in a small town of Indiana

The friendships star when Tommy is somehow involved in a cold case from years before, but the budding friendships, the coming of age moments, the mistakes from the teenage years are all engaging and turn this book in a page turner.

It is fast paced but very engaging. And just like the title suggests, (or at least it did to me) it is a mystery book, and it has its twist and turns that you do not expect.

So all in all, I really recommend this book, and guess what? I’ll be on the look out for more books by R. J. Garcia!

Review: BAHAMA MAMA by Tricia Leedom

Bahama Mama
Tricia Leedom
(The Key West Escape, #2)
Published by: Firefly Hill Press
Publication date: May 8th 2018
Genres: Adult, Adventure, Romance

Perfect for fans of Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Janet Evanovich, this action-packed sequel to Rum Runner from a fresh voice in contemporary romance offers a sexy and comedic take on love, adventure, and what it means to trust your heart.

Troubles are piling up for Molly MacBain. Between navigating the moods of an increasingly sassy teenage daughter, battling mounting financial difficulties, and dealing with her daughter’s deadbeat dad, Molly certainly doesn’t need any more stress in her life. But when she learns that her best friend, Sophie, has been keeping a huge secret from her, she’s beyond bowled over. Apparently, Sophie’s soon-to-be brother-in-law is Molly’s idol, country music superstar Anders Ostergaard and after years on the country music circuit herself, Molly can’t help but have a fan-girl moment when she finally meets him.

Anders flies to Key West to attend his brother’s wedding and keep a low profile after a Vegas scandal makes him a tabloid target. Usually, he has a strict rule about getting involved with fans, but Molly MacBain’s sharp wit and refreshing openness draws him in like no one has before.

But romance and flirting take a backseat when Molly’s daughter witnesses a murder and winds up in Jamaica. Anders offers Molly the use of his private plane to bring her home and together, they set off for Montego Bay. Between racing against her ex’s impending visit and the hitman hunting for the witness to his crime, both Molly and Anders are completely unaware they’re being stalked by an even greater danger.

In the sultry Caribbean, Anders and Molly discover when a man who’s sworn off love and a woman who guards her heart can’t keep their hands off of each other, something’s gotta give. If their luck doesn’t run out first.

my-review 2

I’m definitely a Tricia Leedom follower!!

Bahama mama is the second book from the Key West Escape, and we find ourselves with two very likeable characters in very likeable situations.

The book starts of like any other romance novel, I don’t have anything against them (fyi), but half way through the book come the surprises. Turn of events that have you gripping the edge of your seat. You are pretty sure you know what’s going to happen when bam! you’re wrong!!!

I really liked Rum Runner (the first book), and I was pretty confident I would like this one to, but it actually surpassed my expectations.

The down side of the book for me is the cliffhanger!!! I hate cliffhangers! , the upside for Tricia Leedom is that I will definitely buy the next book.

Be WARNED!!! You might end up reading the book in one seating, so be prepared to has an all nighter!!!!

my-review

I give this book 5 fiery stars!!!

This book had my heart it its grasp all the time. It has a lot of issues and themes that are not suitable for everyone. There are mentions of rape, child abuse, split personalities, etc., but the main issue of the book is one of resilience, love and how much a person can over come what life throws at them.

The two main charachers have a dark past. Shophie has a very very traumatic childhood, since she has never known what a true family is, or what true love means. She has been in foster homes so many times, and not all of them good (mostly never good).

Zack is a very happy child until a fire takes away his family and his happiness.

Life throws them in the mix together, and suddenly they form the family the want and the support they need, but they are just children. What can a child accomplish? Now 13 years, can they actually manage to keep close?

The book is told on both point of view (his and hers), and on the present and in the past. It may sound troublesome, but the author manages to keep the story straight and manages to capture your full attention.

My heart went out to Sophie and Zack soooooo many times. The way a child copes with unspeakable traumas and the understanding of one another, the unbreakable bond and spirit, and the way the author manages to take you to highs and lows, you are in one hell of a roller coaster ride with this book.

If there is one thing I did not like about this book, is about one of the secondary characters that has a good heart and is stringed along the whole book, and the attitude of her towards him, but then again, she had already given her heart away when she was just a little girl.

If you ask me if I would read another book from Loretta Lost, then the answer is a resounding YES.

Book Blitz: WHISPER, by Krystal Jane Ruin

Whisper

Jade has been hearing voices since she was five. No, not voices. One voice.

His girlfriend is a gold-digger if Jade’s ever seen one. And worse yet, it turns out she isn’t crazy-the voice in her head is real.

The choice should be simple.

EXCERPT:

Logan jokes loudly at the other end of the lobby, entertaining a group of men with lewd jokes and wild stories from their recent trip abroad. My sweet, idiot brother leans against the wall grinning over at him, his stupid gray eyes full of trust.

My leg bounces under my desk, spreading irritation through my body. There are no words for how pissed I am. I wish I could bring the ceiling tiles down on Logan’s head. My water bottle teeters in time with my agitation, and I clamp a hand over it to still it.

Of course, I could. Probably. But if my father suspected me of being responsible, he’d have me carted off in a straitjacket.

“Don’t worry about Logan. He will suffer. Come back and open the door.”

“How?” I force my eyes away from Logan and try to keep my voice low. No one is paying attention to me that I know of, but it’s awkward, talking out loud in an open space. For a second I wish the stupid voice could read my thoughts, but then I think better of it.

Honestly though, how crazy am I that the voice in my own head can’t hear me think?

“Sacrifice.”

“Yeah, you said that, but—” I cut myself off. David walks towards me with a small rectangular box full of padded envelopes.

He drops it on my desk. “This is for Juliane.” He speaks slowly and stares at me hard like he’s trying to read my mind. He caught me talking to myself, I know it. And likely not for the first time.

5 stars

I give this book five fangtastic stars!!!

First off let me tell you that in the recent past there hasn’t been a book that actually holds my attention to the point where I would stop my daily activities and read it, but this book sank its hook on me… or should I say, sank its fang in me!!!!

“Do not. Call me. Mikey.” “What do you need, oh mighty sour puss?”

I really liked the way the book is written, even if this is not Mimi’s usual genre it still has her trademark quirky sense of humor, I mean c’mon she even made a cameo of herself!!!! (which I adored!!!!)

“This is very interesting, and I won’t lie. My inner vampire child is jumping up and down screaming with glee. Mystery! Mystery! Mystery!”

This is the first book of I don’t know how many, but it ends unresolved not in a cliffhanger per se, just with unresolved issues.

It revolves around Michael Vanderhorst, a very old, very refined and apparently good vampire and the circumstances he finds himself when his maker is murdered and he leaves his home in Cincinnati to find our what happened in Arizona, the most awful place for a vampire.

“I am apparently the equivalent of Vlad the Impaler—”

But to have time there, he finds himself needing a job, as a librarians assistant, with a wonderful and sweet librarian, Míriam, that makes him question all that he knew to be certain about being a vampire, about love, attraction and humanity.

And we have other amazing characters, like Lula, the assistants assistant, which I hope ends in better terms in future books, and there is one special character… Yes Mr. NICE, not a nice vampire but a closet romantic who has the best idea in the whole book (inside joke, read the book to know what I mean!!!)

Definitely a book to recommend and to keep an eye out for the next one.

Review: Goddess of Forgetfulness, by Mimi Jean Pamilof

Man oh man.. What a devious mind this writer has!!!!

Let me tell you something, with Mimi you never know if you are going up or down or sideways. That is one of the things I love about her books. They are definitely not copy paste.

In this book we have Hmmnnnnnn, I forget.. Oh right Forgetty !!! Goddess of forgetfulness. And what a bummer her life has been, imagine never being recognised or even acknowledged by the people or your peers, well that has been her life, the price she has paid for making the humans forget.

But there is one sole person that cannot forget her, just one in all the world. Except he is the most insufferable man known to…. all really.

But who is he, and why he can remember her???

This is the fourth book in the Immortal Matchmakers series, and usually this books can be read as standalone, but not this book. You definitely need to have read the other books to truly understand the going in this book.

The conniving twisted mind of Mimi is really a hoot. The book is a fun filled crazy roller-coaster ride in a world full of gods, vampires, incubi and invisible unicorns (well just one!).

One thing I love about the way Mimi writes, is the continuous use of everyday references:

“After all, he was naked, ‘ cause, really, who gave a f*ck? Or three or four an so on… “Bring it Dory.”

All in all its definitely a TO READ BOOK!! and I give a huge

Blog tour and Review: BREAKING ROMAN, by Alexis James

Breaking Roman
Alexis James
(The Moran Family #3)
Publication date: June 27th 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

They call me Romeo.

I love romancing women, and I’m good at it.

Too bad it is all a ruse.

Roman, the youngest of the three Moran brothers, is the only one who has ever believed in true love. Too bad his one special person barely acknowledges his existence.

Sabrina Morris spends her days running the HR Department of The Moran Group, and her nights corralling her teenage daughter. She doesn’t have time for love. She’s heard the stories, but Roman is not at all what she expects him to be. His gentle nature catches her completely off-guard. She doesn’t expect to be attracted to him, and she certainly doesn’t expect him to be equally drawn to her. But can she see past his Romeo façade and allow the warm, loving man into her life?

My REVIEW:

Golden stars rating template isolated on white background.

This is the third book in the Moran Family Series, and the first book I’ve read by Alexis James.
I will definitely read previous books. I had no trouble keeping up with the book, but I guess as with any series, if you read it in order the experience is much more fuller.

This is the story of Roman “Romeo” Moran and Sabirna Morris.
The book is told from both their perspectives.

I loved Roman right from the get go, he seemed like a very likable character, and a good “father” figure even though he isn’t the father of Sabrinas daughter.

Sabrina on the other hand, I liked, and respect her decisions, but one of the main tensions on the book was the decisions she is making, decision that affect not only her, but Roman and her daughter.
I did not care very much for her, bu then again, this is a book and probably, a very real reasoning in a real world situation.

The beginning hooks you right in, but about half way to through the book I kind of lost interest, not much but it did took me a little of discipline to finish the book.

All in all, I do recommend the book, and I plan on reading the first two books.

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review by expressotour
