Cover Reveal for SHOPPING FOR A CEO’S WIFE by Julia Kent

Shopping for a CEO’s Wife
Julia Kent
(Shopping for a Billionaire, #12)
Publication date: April 25th 2017
Genres: Adult, Romance

Snowbound. Sounds so romantic, with visions of cuddling before a roaring fire, hot chocolate spiked with brandy, and a secret elopement.

Wait. What?

My fiancé’s father won’t stop trying to turn our pending wedding into a three-ring media circus so he can get free publicity for his family’s Fortune 500 company. My mother has decided she’s done with All Things Wedding and asks her teacup Chihuahua for mother-of-the-bride advice.

They’ve all gone certifiably mad.

Then the stress from the wedding puts my mother in the hospital, I scream at my future father-in-law in front of a camera crew and the video goes viral, and the romantic wedding that started with Andrew’s grand Pride and Prejudice proposal looks less like Jane Austen and more like Dostoyevsky.

So what do you do when you’re a fixer and you can’t fix something?

You give up on it.

Not on Andrew, silly.

The wedding.

Shopping for a CEO’s Wife is the 12th book in Julia Kent’s New York Times bestselling Shopping series. As Shannon and Declan enjoy their newlywed bliss, Andrew’s father wants to exploit Amanda and Andrew’s nuptials, much to Amanda’s chagrin. Can she learn to stand up to her future father-in-law and fight for what’s right? But the real question is: will Spritzy the teacup Chihuahua end up being a flower girl?

Review: BLACK BULLET, by L.D. Rose

black-bullet

4-5-stars

A must read if you like dark, paranormal, on the edge of your seat romance with a great cast of characters!!!!

This is the second book in the Senery series.. It can be read as a stand alone but I really recommend reading it in order.

Jonathan James Kerr, US Marine Corp… ended up dead…. or as a vampire but with a conscience and a soul.

The only weapon the humans have against the growing vampire population is one they don’t even know it exists. The one family that can actually compete against the vampires are hybrids. Half human, half vampire. And their mission is to rid the world of the vampire population. The Knight family.

Jonathan isn’t exactly family, but he was a very good friend before becoming a vampire, and now, he is a weapon for the Knights, a friend, a brother in arms. But he is tortured because of the beast inside of him, because maybe it would’ve been better for everyone if he had died.

During one hunt at night, John is suddenly surrounded by vampires, and in the mix of all the chaos there is a woman that entered the fray, unfortunately, she wants to kill him.

And what is so special about her??? She is a Hybrid… The Knights didn’t know she existed! Or did they?

Lawana, has had to face the world alone, having escaped what she believed to be certain death, only to be tortured, used and abused within an inch of her life by vampires. Her only resolve and motive to keep on living is to hunt down all the vampires or die trying. An in the meantime, drown her sorrows in alcohol.

That is until she meets a very special, very soulful vampire, that even though he has black eyes, they are not empty, they show emotion, conscience… but how can that be? She has been deceived before, she will not fall for it again!

They are irrevocably drawn together, one wanting to avoid at all costs the vampire with a conscience, and the other trying to get close to the only human that can actually make him come out of his depression.

Can they overcome their distrust, and learn to love and rely on each other even after all the bad things that has happened to them?

As I said it in my last review, L.D. Rose has that ability to play a movie inside your mind, her descriptions very well elaborated, with no fluff that makes your mind wander.

The story is dark and gripping, and harrowing at times, and you end up wondering if it will ever get better, if they’ll be able to surpass their obstacles… but in the end, I know it sounds cheese but LOVE CONQUERS ALL.

I love the curvballs that L.D. Rose throws, (******spoiler alert**** if you do not want to read skip to the last paragragh******) when Lawana is kidnapped by the big bad vampire, and John goes after her like a bat out of hell, and suddenly crashes with the ambulance…. Well that scene was amazing in my head.. And you guess that he will get to her in time… and noooooooooo!!!!! I will not say any more, but wholly molly, I love it when you can surprise me.

So… in conclusion…READ THE BOOK.!!! I simply cannot wait for the next one!!!!

Even though I loved the book, and I do plan to keep on reading, there is just one little detail, very personal if you will, that made some noise in my head… there are some references to God, or religious artifacts that made me squirm in my seat, even though I’m not a religious fanatic. its just a little FYI.

I was given the book by the author in exchange of an honest review.

Life on the street molds emotional athletes.Three years ago, her brother’s death marked the beginning of Kendra’s new life, an existence with no home, no family, and no friends. Conner Crofton owns the BDSM club Ambrosia. After failing to protect his teammate on their last covert mission, penance takes form as a promise to safeguard Billy’s little sister, a girl he’d unknowingly remanded to a world of darkness and uncertainty, deception and psychopathic stalkers.

The past will always haunt us. Each must earn forgiveness and trust as passion, guilt, deception, and betrayal, interweave a destiny formed long ago. A romantic suspense with a twist.

Incandescently, by Sylvie Parizeau, Review

Incandescently
Sylvie Parizeau
Publication date: October 22nd 2016
Genres: New Adult, Romance

LIAM O’SHEA, bestseller author of the SciFi saga, Eiloe.

All I knew was pain – a childhood filled with cruelty and villains who used and abused.

Until Éolie.

I first heard her sweet, angelical voice in the dark of night, when I lay bathed in my own impending death. Seventeen years later, it’s not the nightmare she pulled me out of that haunts me, but the glimpse of Happily Ever After she revealed just before disappearing.

They said she was a figment of my boundless imagination. A wish. A dream. Until I had no choice but to believe them, cherishing my imaginary savior the only way I knew how – in fiction and lore.

But fantasy has a way of transforming reality. When I finally tire of being a citizen of the world, I take an impromptu sabbatical as a professor at a small college on the coast of Maine. And there I see her, the girl with the sea-green eyes and angelic voice.

My world turns upside down. Turns out my girl is for real, and the pull between us is anything but imaginary.

Happily Ever After has a story … and this one is mine.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / iBooks

Author Bio:

A paralegal by day and incurable romantic by night, Sylvie is a cross-genre, and she takes Happily Ever After very seriously. The End just isn’t in her vocabulary.

An incorrigible daydreamer, she now feeds her obsession with epilogues by concocting stories in which heroes deal with the happy from the get-go. Ready, or not. And she confesses under oath to loving every minute of it.

Sylvie lives her own Happily Ever After in the beautiful mountains of Les Laurentides in Northern Quebec, alongside her whole set of characters.

My review: 5 out of 5 magical stars!!!

Soon worthy, lovey dovey, melt your heart, feel good, chick flick book!!!

Yeap, that about sums it up!!

Right from the get go, there is a warning (which by the way I found endearing and funny, and loved it all the way) stating that this book has a HEA, and it is a happy story and “it may prove infectious, so beware”

“I love you, mind, body and soul, love you. I belong with, to you. Forever and a day”

Imaging being seven years old and finding yourself in the most awful situation possible, and then having a wonderful imaginary friend that accompanies you throughout your horrible ordeal.
Now imagine yourself some 17 years later, and suddenly hearing her voice again, only this time she need your help!!!!

Normally I write a little bit about the book, but really there is so much to tell, and I feel that it gives so much, and I really really would like for you, my one reader, to read this book!!

When I started to read the book, I thought to myself that it was going to be a fun read, with fun and lovely characters, but not really the type of book where the characters draw you in, but boy was I wrong!

Liam, had a crappy childhood but with a twist, the love of his life, the one thing that kept him going, Eolie a figment of his imagination, a friend that only spoke to him, that healed him, and suddenly she was gone . But that only fueled his capacity for storytelling, one he put to good use when he wrote his best selling book.

Everyone told him she was a coping mechanism for his traumas, everyone except his GGS buddies.

This one imaginary friend or coping mechanism, or whatever you want to call it left him unable to have a real relationship, because everyone fell short to what life would be with her, nothing felt right, he had found his “home” at 7 years old, and now some years later, he was still searching for that feeling of “normal” of belonging… of home!

Eolie, the heroine of this book is a wonderful human being, one with the capability of finding the beauty in everything, and everyone, making her different from the rest of the people because she has some unusual tricks up her sleeve.

Sylvie Parizeau definitely know how to write a swoon worthy novel, with twist and turns you definitely did not expect, jumping you a little to the right and then to the left, leaving you hanging on her every word. Sometimes I just wanted to throw the book away, ok, maybe not, because its a tablet and would break, but I did close it, breathed in and out and then started again, thinking that the book was going somewhere only to find out that no… I was wrong, it went differently than I thought, and let me tell you something, I love when that happens.

Q&A with Brooke Stanton

Tell us a little about yourself.

When did you decide to become a writer?

I used to keep notebooks filled with short stories starting in middle school. If I’m going to be completely honest they were filled with some pretty risqué stories. I was young and didn’t know much about romance or sex, but my aunt wrote romance novels and I used to sneak and read them, so I tried to emulate her. I didn’t really understand the subject matter. I don’t think I’d even kissed a boy, yet. Once I got to high school, I wrote more mainstream fiction in my spiral notebooks. They were never for anyone to see. Just my own enjoyment. I went to a performing arts high school and funnelled my creativity on stage at the time. But I always knew one day I would publish a book.

Why do you write?

I write for the same reason I used to get on stage and sing and act. It’s cathartic. I love diving into different stories and characters. It makes me feel alive.

What are your ambitions for your writing career?

To have the freedom to write what I want in many different genres. I hope my readers love my books as much as I love writing them.

What has been the hardest part of building your career?

Being patient!

Which writers inspire you?

Jojo Moyes, Emily Giffin, Meg Cabot. All their stories and characters are interesting and unique and I love how their stories unfold. The love stories feel authentic and there’s always a bit of fun and laughter.

What have you written? (Include books, novellas, short stories, poems, blogs, awards or anything of interest).

My debut novel was the award-winning RomCom, The Misadventures of Catie Bloom. My follow-up novel is The Advenutres of Natalie Bloom, which is the second book in the Bloom Sisters series (but can be read as a stand-alone). I have a blog on my website that focuses on my writing career with day-to-day life anecdotes. When I was trying to get preggers, I had a humor blog called Vagina Vacancy. I also contributed to Natural Awakenings magazine and wrote a column for examiner.com.

What inspires your ideas?

Everything! No, really. I never know when an idea is going to hit; I could be on a plane, in a car, watching a movie, reading the newspaper, about to fall asleep. My phone is filled with notes of story ideas. I have at least a dozen. And they will all be written.

Are there any correlations between the books you write and your life experiences?

The Adventures of Natalie Bloom was largely inspired by my yearly trips to Red Frog Beach in Panama. My parents own a place there and it’s a beautiful, unique, inspiring location. The wheels in my head were turning every time I went down there and out of that came this book.

My novel, How to Survive New York on Three Dates a Week (co-written by Corinne Barlow), is the most biographical. Most of the stories are pulled right from our lives. It’s scheduled to be released in early 2018.

All my books have a few anecdotes I took either directly from my life or my friends. If you know me, read carefully…you may find a bit of your life staring back at you!

Do you work from an outline or plot or do you prefer just to see where an idea takes you?

I used to write and see where the story took me. But I found writing for discovery without any kind of outline takes too long. Now I write a short outline before I write any book. It has done wonders for the speed in which I can write a book now. And there’s still a lot to discover, even with an outline.

Tell me about your most recent release.

It’s a romantic adventure about discovering what you and what you’ll do (and won’t do) to get. It’s a bit of romance, adventure, and mystery all tied together. Natalie Bloom discovers to get what she wants she has to fight for it and not be afraid to get hurt…a hard thing to do for all of us.

Is there a message in your novel that you hope readers will grasp? I don’t focus on a message as much as I focus on giving my readers something to indulge in, like sneaking a pint of rocky road ice cream and savouring every morsel as it slides down. But the most prominent theme in Natalie Bloom is not letting fear get in the way of living your life – stand up for what you want and go out and get it, no matter what the obstacles.

Any new projects we should look out for?

The third and final book in the series, The Downfall of Catie Bloom, is coming out in the summer of 2017.

EXCERPT:

I caught sight of his traveling jaw—and my own fell open because this was not the right jaw. This jaw wasn’t Kal-El on the front of a comic book, it was sharper, the cheeks above it hollow.

My hand fell away.

His body followed the turn of his head. His cologne hit me like a jolt of static. Spicy, and so musky and male, maybe some of that scent was actually him. I blinked at the open shirt collar suddenly in front of my face. Most of the time I came level with men, a balance I adored. But today I stared at a collarbone. A deep biting groove at the base of a long, wide neck. Twin tendons rose up in a V on either side of a prominent Adam’s apple I could lean forward and sink my teeth right into. The thrill of being stood over struck some place deep in my core. Flipped the mechanics of how I preferred this male/female thing to be. Like maybe if I went to his room—and I knew right then without having seen his face that I would be going to this man’s room—I might actually let him be on top.

Pure lunacy. The top was my spot. I tilted my chin and met a dark gaze. His brown eyes shone down at me, flecked with yellow like they were lit from behind. He smiled, and grooves made crescents on either side of his mouth. Mischief sprawled across his features so catastrophic that I could almost hear a chorus of hallelujahs.

This is going to be fun.

He smiled wider.

My womb panged. Yep, so much fun would be happening. So much fun. Laughter bubbled out of my lips, because really all I could do was laugh. His brows shifted, his gaze moving over me as though he’d never seen a person laugh before. Then his chest rumbled and the sound he released rushed straight between my thighs.

My cheeks burned from grinning.

Buona sera,” he said.

The words were familiar, but I no longer remembered what they meant. In fact, I’d lost all languages. His lips parted, and he spoke again. My gaze was sucked to his mouth. To the way his lips curved up so completely, every tooth revealed all the way to his molars.

I was going to have awesome sex very, very soon. I felt it in my bones—the amazingness of the impending sex. Actually I felt it in my cunt, but whatever. I love my life. His lips shuffled across his teeth as he talked, words smooth and almost creamy compared to when he spoke Arabic on the phone. The tone was the same, husky and low. I had no idea what he said, but I kept on smiling.
